SmartScheduler uses a genetic algorithm to resolve all scheduling constraints automatically. You provide your departments, sections, instructors, rooms, and meeting times — the engine handles conflict resolution across all combinations and returns a complete, validated timetable.
Each timetable generation consumes one credit from your subscription plan (UserAccessPlan). Credits reset based on your plan cycle. You can check your remaining credits on the dashboard. Upgrade your plan anytime from the Subscription page to get more.
Yes. SmartScheduler supports CSV upload for instructors and subject-teacher mappings. The expected format is
instructor_name, subject_number per row. You can also use the Convert CSV tool to reformat data from other systems before importing.
Admin (HOD) — full access: create departments, sections, rooms, generate timetables, manage subscriptions.
Dean — can view timetables across all departments and access the admin dashboard.
Teacher — can view their own assigned timetable only.

Once a timetable is generated, save it — it will appear in your Saved Timetables list. Open any saved timetable and click the Download PDF button. The PDF is rendered server-side using xhtml2pdf (pisa) so it looks identical to the on-screen view.
The scheduler uses a unified Subject model that distinguishes theory and lab slots. Hard constraint validation ensures lab sessions are scheduled in lab-designated rooms and are not placed back-to-back in ways that violate your institution's rules. These constraints run before any timetable is accepted.

Yes. Each admin account manages one department, but a Dean account can view and oversee timetables across all departments from a single dashboard. This makes it easy for institution-wide coordination without sharing admin credentials.

All data is stored server-side with access scoped strictly to your account. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We do not share or sell any institutional data. For detailed security or compliance questions, reach out to us directly.
Yes. From the Add Timings section in the dashboard you can define as many meeting-time slots as your institution needs — morning, afternoon, or split-day schedules. The generator respects whichever slots you configure.
